Most of you are familiar with the Christmas favorite - Red and Green Peppermint Candy Crunch in Merckens White Chocolate, also known as "Bark" or "Christmas Bark". Here is another way to use the same idea for another holiday - Valentine's Day! The color most popular for this holiday, of course, is red. Candy Crunch comes in so many flavors, and the flavors in RED include Peppermint Crunch, Cinnamon Crunch, my favorite Tart Cherry Crunch (YUM), and a deep purplish red comes in Boysenberry crunch. The same method - melt a 2.5# bag of Merckens Chocolate until smooth. Stir in candy crunch of your choice. Spread onto 2 cookie sheets lined with aluminum foil or parchment paper. Let set at room temperature or in the fridge until firm. Crack into randomly shaped pieces and serve. They can be placed into clear treat bags, candy boxes, or into 12" disposable decorating bags and tied with a decorative ribbon. It's also possible to place the melted candy (even after you stir in the chunky crunch) into candy molds. So, for example, you could make the candy and mold it into a huge key that says "Key to my Heart", or a Million Dollar Bill, or extra large lips for a sweet Valentine's Smooch. The possibilities are endless!
You can also mold the Mercken's White Chocolate (with or without crunch) into the Rosebud chocolate mold. Once the chocolate sets and you unmold the rosebuds, you can place them into the rosebud box as you see here, and give away a dozen chocolate roses! Better than watching the pretty flowers fade, and so delicious to eat. Your sweetie will feel even more special knowing that you made them yourself!
